The flat is completely covered in brown water with rocky areas scattered throughout. A tree line is seen in the distance, and the sky is light blue with areas of heavy cloud coverage. Other clammers can be seen and heard in the distance, talking to each other as they work. The clammer walks back through the water and places clams in a white bucket, which leave splatters of brown water inside it. Small waves calmly ripple outwards in the water as the clammer walks along. Water splashes up from the bottom of the frame in droplets as the clammer takes each swift step. The sun is rising in the distance and casts a yellow-orange glow over the flat. The clammer sometimes slides into the spot where they plan to pull clams, their foot making a mark in the mud. Footprints circle the flat, leaving trails that cross one another. The mud is brown and soupy, and makes suction noises when the clammer pulls their hand out. Sometimes, clam holes open on the surface near the clammer’s feet when they take steps. As the clammer bends down, their reflection is visible off the watery surface of the mud.
